The Beautiful Chaos of Building an Empire: Why I’m Smiling Under the Weight of the World
Leadership lessons, financial hits, and the reality of juggling family, fitness, and five different businesses.
If you asked me how this month is going, I’d tell you it passed in the blink of an eye. One minute I’m planning the week, and the next, I’m wondering where the days went.
I currently feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. I live with a nagging, irrational fear that if I am lazy for just one day, or if I take my foot off the gas for a single afternoon, I will lose all the progression I’ve bled for.
My social media needs growing. Business plans need refining. Bills need paying. Files need organizing. My workouts are slipping because there aren’t enough hours in the day. And yet?
I am here, day in and day out, with a smile on my face, loving every single moment of it.
The Reality Check: When "Startup Mode" Loses its Shine We all love the early days of a startup. We love the adrenaline, the late nights, and the "us against the world" mentality. But recently, I’ve faced a different challenge: keeping a team motivated when the business stabilizes and things aren't as "exciting" as day one.
I’ve had to learn a hard lesson in leadership this month. Progress isn't always about speed. I realized that to build a legacy, I have to listen to those I surround myself with. I had to heed their warnings, slow down, and actually take a few steps back.
It felt counter-intuitive. However, stepping back allowed us to fix the foundation. It means we are forming a stronger, better company rather than a fast, fragile one.
The Financial Humble Pie While I was recalibrating the business, the stock market decided to humble my personal portfolio.
I thought I was smart. I analyzed the quarterly earnings. The reports were strong and the outcomes looked good, so I invested heavily. The result? They plummeted anyway due to broader industry trends.
The lesson is simple. Stop trying to be the expert in everything. Just as I ask my clients to trust me with their business strategy, I need to trust financial experts with my portfolio. Trying to DIY everything is a fast track to burnout and lost capital.
The Avalanche of Opportunity People talk about "finding" opportunities. My problem is that I’m drowning in them. Channeling my focus is my biggest battle right now.
Pisco Tech Global is in full-scale development.
Dream Cars 4 Kids has multiple events we are trying to plan.
My Consultancy is kicking off 2-3 new businesses.
We are launching a Podcast.
I’m forging a new Manufacturing Partnership.
Oh, and it’s tax season, and I’m in the middle of selling my car to buy a new one.
The "Why" Behind the Madness Amidst this professional tornado, I am a husband and a father. I try to prioritize my physical health, but the stress is palpable.
So, am I crazy? Is this sustainable?
I realized recently that this is simply the price of entry. This is what it takes. The reason I can smile while carrying this weight is that I know I am building something bigger than myself.
To anyone else out there feeling the crush of the grind, know that you aren't crazy. You’re an entrepreneur. Trust the process, trust your experts, and remember that sometimes taking a step back is the only way to launch yourself forward.
